BOARD MEMBER POSITION NOMINEES

Dr. Edmon Obat serves as a Board Member of KMA Regulated Non-WDT SACCO Ltd and has been the Treasurer and Chair of the Finance and Administration Committee for the past two years. He brings to the Board a powerful combination of medical professionalism, public health leadership, financial discipline, and governance integrity.

 He has played a central role in strengthening financial oversight, reinforcing internal controls, and safeguarding members’ funds. His leadership has been anchored on prudence, transparency, and accountability, ensuring that every decision protects the long-term stability of our SACCO. He firmly believes in disciplined governance and has always reinforced the clear separation between Board oversight and operational management, enhancing professionalism, accountability, and institutional resilience.

He has been a passionate champion of SACCO digitalization and has played an instrumental role in advancing ICT infrastructure and member-facing innovations, most notably contributing to the recent successful rollout of the KMA SACCO mobile app and broader digital access improvements. His vision is to bring the SACCO to members through seamless digital platforms, convenient service access, and modernized processes.

He recognizes that a strong SACCO is built on discipline, strategy, and execution. He seeks your mandate to continue building a financially resilient, digitally progressive, and member-centered SACCO that works smarter for every member.

 

Dr. Stanley Aruyaru is a General & Laparoscopic Surgeon and Health Policy & Quality advisor with over 15 years of experience in the Kenyan healthcare space. He is an internationally recognized surgeon, a public speaker and an award-winning healthcare leader.

Holds a MBChB from Moi University, Master of Medicine (General Surgery) from The Aga Khan University, and is currently a PhD student in Global Surgery at the University of Cape Town. In addition, Dr. Aruyaru is a fellow of the College of Surgeons of East Central and Southern Africa (COSECSA), a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), and a Fellow in Health Service Management (FeHSM).

He is passionate about advocacy for effective and responsive quality healthcare delivery systems and his works can be found across various platforms in digital, broadcast, and print media.

He is also the author of two books: The Chronicles of a Village Surgeon, and “Blade Wisdom” as well as numerous research and newspaper articles.

In 2021, Dr. Aruyaru was among the Winners of Business Daily’s Top 40 Under 40 Men in Kenya, an award that recognizes young people making a significant impact in various spheres of life in Kenya. He is also a youth mentor and an avid advocate for charity work in health.

He serves as the Chief Medical Officer at PCEA Kikuyu Hospital, the Secretary General of The Surgical Society of Kenya as well as a member of numerous international professional bodies. In addition, he sits in boards of various health institutions as well as a technical advisor on several Meditech startups. He is also the founder of the Healthcare consulting company Grounded Impact.

 

 

 

 

Dr. Ruth Njeri

Dr. Jack  Kileba as a dedicated member of KMA SACCO, I am vying for the position of Board Member to ensure our society remains the bedrock of financial security for healthcare professionals and their families. My candidacy is rooted in the belief that a growing asset base requires a board that balances bold innovation with prudent governance.

With over 12 years in Medicine, 10 of which have been in leadership roles, I bring a blend of clinical dedication and strategic leadership to our society. 

My Pillars of Actions:

  • Robust governance I will build further on a strong governance system with emphasis on transparency, accountability and open communication.
  • Bold Innovation: We will enhance our 24-Hours digital banking capabilities to enhance service delivery and keep up with the emerging members’ needs.
  • Member-Centric Returns: We will optimize operational efficiency, customer service, turnaround time and products to deliver competitive dividends and interest on deposits.

Together we will build a SACCO that truly understands the doctor’s time and financial journey.

Dr.Peter Okong’o 

Dr Peter Omasire Okong’o is a board-certified consultant orthodontist at the 12th Precinct Orthodontics and Dental Studio. He has a decade-long teaching experience at the University of Nairobi School of Dental Sciences and immense clinical experience. He blends cutting-edge technology and attention to detail with a boutique style practice, in order to meet the unique and individual needs of his patients.

 

Dr. Teresa Bonyo

“Proven Leadership. Stronger Governance. Secure Returns.”
Dr. Teresa Bonyo is a public health professional with over 15 years of experience spanning clinical care, health systems strengthening, and humanitarian health programming. She holds an MBChB and a Master of Public Health and Policy. She has served in senior management roles with different international organisations; including Doctors without Borders (MSF), and the United Nations Migration Agency (IOM) in different regions of Sub-Saharan Africa and the MENA. Her professional journey reflects a deep commitment to service, leadership and empowerment of communities.  In addition, she brings CPA training, strengthening her ability to oversee financial management, risk, and investment strategies. She seeks to support KMA RNWDT Sacco Ltd in reaching its full potential, ensuring members derive maximum value from their savings whilst helping build a forward-looking and resilient SACCO.

Proven Leadership Track Record
Dr. Bonyo, combining medical and public health expertise with strong governance and financial acumen, is ready to lead the SACCO into further growth, innovation, and impact for all members.  She has served in different boards, of note as a former President and founder of the MSF Eastern Africa Section, a regional institutional office premised in Nairobi and spanning across 11 countries.  She has also previously been coopted as a board member of MSF Germany-a board that oversees a 360 million euros organization. She currently serves on the MSF International Board, contributing to global strategic decision making and governance oversight.

Good Governance
Dr. Bonyo has undertaken governance training, including Humanitarian Governance and Corporate Governance, equipping her with robust frameworks for oversight, transparency, and risk management. She is a strong advocate for ethical oversight and accountability and is keen to ensure that member savings are protected while fostering growth and long-term sustainability.

SUPERVISORY COMMITTEE POSITION NOMINEE

Dr. Shelmith Muthee

is a Consultant General Surgeon ,currently working as a civilian with the Ministry of Defence. In addition to clinical duties ,I hold the post of Deputy Chief Medical Officer.

I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Nairobi (MBChB.) and obtained postgraduate qualification in General Surgery from the College of Surgeons of East ,Central and Southern Africa(COSECSA).

With 16 years devoted to working as a medical practitioner in Kenya at different levels ,I am aware of the spectrum of financial needs and opportunities presented within KMA Sacco. Serving in both public and private sectors , including top level management ,has allowed me to gain valuable experience in leadership, planning ,monitoring and evaluation as well as guiding departments through periods of growth and transition .

This is in addition to being an educator and mentor known for integrity and attention to detail ,

As I declare interest in serving as a member of the Supervisory Committee ,I am aware that this is a period of unprecedented growth and venturing into new areas for the Sacco. I desire to be an active participant in ensuring the foundational ideals of KMA Sacco are upheld ,that growth goes in tandem with stability and that every gain contributes to enhancing the financial wellbeing of all members ,both now and in future.

Dr. Cyril Ogada

Dr. Cyril Nyalik Ogada is the  Chairman of  the  Departmental  CESSP  committee, Department  of conservative and Prosthetic Dentistry. He is a seasoned dental professional, academic and researcher with over 15 years as a practicing dentist, six years as a consultant prosthodontist and 12 years as tutor at University level. Dr.Ogada has publications in pear reviewed journals and registered with the Kenya medical practitioners and dentists counsel as a consultant Prosthodontist-registration number B843. He is current pursing PhD in Doctor of philosophy and has Masters in Dental Surgery (Prosthodontics)
