Dr. Mercy Korir

Dr. Mercy Korir is a medical doctor and currently works as medical journalist at KTN News. She serves as KMA SACCO’s Vice-Chair and Chair of the Education Committee.Dr. Korir seeks a second chance to serve the Sacco members in the Board of Directors. During the previous term, she has been instrumental in the growth of the Sacco, particularly in its product uptake. Notably in 2019, the Sacco loan book grew by 1.6 Billion through various strategies she initiated to reach members. Dr. Korir has tirelessly worked to improve the Sacco’s corporate image, both with its members and other stakeholders through robust communication and marketing strategies.

For the next term, Dr. Korir seeks to solidify the gains made by the Sacco, to take the organisation to the next level through implementation of the Strategic Plan 2020-2024, which she was part of the development and further improvement the members’ customer experience in the Sacco borrowing from her experience in media and communication.

Dr. Mwita
Dr. Riro Mwita Moses Concord

Dr Riro Mwita is a Consultant Physician at Kiambu Level 5 Hospital and an Honorary Lecturer at Kenyatta University College of Health Sciences.Graduated from UON 2002-MbChB and 2009-Mmed (Internal Medicine).

Dr. Mwita has served in the Board of KMA Sacco in the Credit and Education committees where he has contributed immensely to the growth of the sacco especially in its loan book (KES 1.6B in 2019) over the last 3 years.

Dr Mwita, as a team player, contributed to the development of the Sacco’s strategic Plan 2020-2024 which he’s keen on bringing to life in its implementation to propel the Sacco to the next corporate level.  

He is passionate about customer experience in the Sacco as a key driver of business growth, Dr. Mwita seeks another opportunity to serve the members of KMA Sacco to develop this arm of the organisation.

Dr. Obondo
Dr. Brenda Achieng Obondo
MBChB, MBA (Ongoing)

Over the last 1 year, Dr. Brenda has served in the board as a member of the credit and investment committees where they approved loans to members worth Sh 1.2 Billion as well as making important investment decisions, contributing to double digit growth in returns to members.  She has been instrumental in creating awareness and educating prospective members on the Sacco leading to a growth in the Sacco membership. She has also taken part in developing the SACCO's  Strategic Plan(2020 - 2024) which guides the path that the SACCO will take in the next 4 years to achieve its objective,that is, to be the leader in provision of financial products, services and solutions to the healthcare professional.

She therefore humbly seek your vote in re-electing her as Member of the Board so that she can represent your voice and ensure the SACCO is run in a transparent and efficient way.

Dr. Mwangi
Dr. Johnson Mwangi – CEO and Lead Dental Surgeon Tender Care Dental  Nairobi

Dr Johnson Mwangi graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from the University of Nairobi in 1991. On completion of one year internship at Kenyatta National Hospital, he joined Kijabe Mission Hospital as the deputy director of dental services where he worked for 3 1/2 years before moving to private practice in 1996.

Dr Johnson Mwangi also holds a Masters in Business Administration MBA (Strategic Management) from the University of Nairobi and a Certificate in Advanced Christian Leadership from the Haggai Institute, Hawaii (USA).

He also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Oral Implantology (PGDOI) from the University of Pretoria and the University of New York.

Throughout the course of his education and practice, Dr. Mwangi has attained a great deal of certifications, skill and expertise in orthodontics, implant dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, preventive dentistry and restorative dentistry.

Dr Freda A. Odera, MBChB(UoN), MMED(Obs/Gyn)UoN

Dr.Freda is currently working as an Obstetrician/ Gynaecologist in Laikipia County with a lot of passion in matters pertaining to women and girls especially in the underserved communities. She is organized, punctual and pay a lot of attention to details. She is also very interested in financial independence, strategic investments and sound financial decisions hence her interest in serving in the Sacco. Having undertaken the Senior Management Course and the Strategic Leadership Development Program, both offered by the Kenya School of Government, she is well equipped with the knowledge, attitude and skills to participate in the governance, strategic direction and accountability functions necessary to steer the KMA Sacco towards achieving its vision. She is a team player, jovial and with excellent interpersonal skills. She looks forward to bringing vibrant ideas, marketing and signing up of new members to the Sacco in order to boost profitability.
Dr. Tei
Dr. Matolo Elijah Tei

Dr Elijah Tei Matolo is a Medical Doctor with 8 years experience in Clinical Practice and Health Financing. He is a graduate of the University of Nairobi (MBChB 2011) and is currently pursuing a Master of Health Economics and Pharmacoeconomics from the Barcelona School of Management. He has been a bona fide member of KMA SACCO for the last 8 years.

“I have actively participated in all SACCO activities and have seen it grow in leaps and bounds over the years. I am a firm believer in the SACCO being the leader in provision of financial products to all doctors. It is for this reason that I request your support to take up a governance role to contribute to steering the SACCO to greater heights.

My main motivation is to provide guidance in improving the operational efficiency and enhancing the customer experience to make the SACCO more responsive to doctor’s needs”

Dr. Kyalo
Dr. Mbaluka Robert Kyalo

A medical Doctor (MBCHB UoN, 2014) currently pursuing a Masters of Medicine in Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery (2023) at the University of Nairobi. He also hold a certificate in Leadership and Management in Health from the University of Washington (2017). Dr.Mbaluka has been a member of KMA Sacco since 2015 and KMA Sacco has been a partner in his journey to achieving his financial goals. 

As the KMA strategic plan 2015-2019 comes to its end, he looks forward to leveraging on his goal-setting and strategic planning skills by being part of the Board of Directors (BOD) of the Sacco. In this position, he, together with the other members of the BOD shall review the successes, failures and challenges of the second strategic plan as they gear towards the third strategic plan with creative and applicable solutions that meet the immediate and other needs of the Sacco members and partners.



Candidate for Supervisory Committee Position: AGM 2020

Dr. Kiplangat Sigei


Dr. Kiplangat Sigei is a medical doctor with over 10 years work experience in clinical medicine, clinical research and pharmaceutical and in-vitro diagnostics medical affairs. He holds a Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery Degree from University of Nairobi as well as Master of Science in Public Health (London) and 2 Post-graduate Diplomas in Tropical Medicine & Hygiene (EADTMH - London) and Global Health - Non-Communicable Diseases (Edinburgh).

He has worked as Medical Officer In Charge at Olenguruone Sub District Hospital in Nakuru County, Research Medical Doctor at KEMRI – Wellcome Trust Research Programme in Kilifi and Medical Science Liaison, Medical Advisor & Head of Medical Affairs, East Africa at Novartis Pharmaceuticals. Currently he serves as the Medical Affairs Manager for Anglophone Africa at BioMérieux, a leading French multinational in vitro diagnostics company, where he is responsible for leading the medical affairs engagement for BioMeriéux's clinical diagnostics portfolio focusing on medical education and capacity building projects in Antimicrobial Resistance, Sepsis, Emergency solutions and Syndromic testing for English speaking countries of East, West and Southern Africa.

Dr. Sigei has been an active KMA SACCO Member since 2011 and joined the SACCO Supervisory Committee in April 2019 and has been an active board member championing good governance, responsiveness to member needs and focus on learning best practices from financial services providers locally and globally. His passion is to continue to see the SACCO grow to support financial empowerment for the ordinary daktari in Kenya.

Dr. Sigei is a Business Daily Kenya Top 40 Men Under 40 2017 awardee.
